Who was St. Patrick?
When Patrick was 16, pirates dragged him across the sea to Ireland and sold him as a slave. For six years he prayed on cold hillsides, a hundred times a day. He escaped, made it home, and then heard the Irish people calling him back. So he went. To the place where he'd been a slave. He spent the rest of his life there. Legend says he drove the snakes out of Ireland. There were never snakes there to begin with. Patrick knows. His feast day is March 17.
