Who was St. Rose?
Rose was born in Lima, Peru, and her real name was Isabel. Someone leaned over her cradle, said her sleeping face looked like a rose, and the name never left. In a corner of the garden she and her brother built a little prayer house out of branches, barely big enough to kneel in, and she went there in the evenings to talk to God. When her family lost almost everything, her garden fed them for years. She was the first saint born in the Americas. Her feast day is August 23.
While your little one colors, you can read the story for kids together.
