A Baptism gift that grows with them

Baptism gifts tend to be beautiful and boxed away. A silver frame. An engraved cross. Lovely, and then the lid goes on.

This one gets opened every month. A hand-drawn letter from a saint, a prayer card, a sticker, and a little illustrated zine, mailed to the family. Mom or dad reads the letter out loud, and the saints become part of bedtime.

A note from experience: the letters land best with kids around ages 6 to 10. For a brand new baby, this gift often belongs to the big brother or sister, so they get something special in the mail while everyone fusses over the baby. Or save it for the baptism anniversary a few years down the road. Either way, it's faith arriving in the mailbox, not sitting in a memory box.
