The Guardian Angels

The idea that nobody is walking around unaccompanied.

This is the one feast day on the calendar that is not about somebody famous. It is about the belief that every single person has an angel assigned to them, personally, for their whole life.

It comes from a line where Jesus is talking about children and says that their angels always see the face of His Father. The Church took that seriously enough to give it a day.

It is a strange and comforting thing to sit with. Not a crowd of angels somewhere doing angel business. One. Yours. Paying attention right now.
